CATHOLIC INFORMATION AND RESOURCE SERVICE                         Incorporating Bishop David L Walker Library

 

The Catholic Information and Resources Service primary focus is Catholic formation and adult education, as such it is supports the Mission of the Diocese to Educate and Serve.

CIRS provides for the information needs of students and staff of the Broken Bay Institute, Sydney College of Divinity and those undertaking courses under other Diocesan agencies. Its services are also available to individual clergy, lay ministers and catechists, to parish workers and schools, and to anyone in search of information relating to Catholic faith, life, culture and history.

Its resources include an extensive reference collection, a collection of over 16.000 resources including audio-visual and some teaching materials and a small magazine selection, and on all aspects of Catholic faith and life. There are also computers to use and internet access.

The CIRS and the Bishop David L. Walker Library is located on Level 4 [ground level] at the Caroline Chisholm Centre, Pennant Hills. CIRS welcomes enquiries and will assist with providing information where ever possible.
