Challenge Ranch is an outdoor education centre owned and operated by the Diocese of Broken Bay.

Challenge Ranch is located near Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW, 5 minutes from the F3 Freeway 
(Somersby Interchange).

Surrounded by both Crown Land and State Forest, the beautiful location, diverse facilities 
and convenient access make it an ideal choice for your next education program, school camp, 
training day, retreat or parish activity.

Activity Program

School Holiday Camps

Challenge Ranch, owned by the Broken Bay Diocese is set on 65 acres and surrounded by Crown Land and State Forest. It's beautiful setting, exciting activity program and convenient location make it ideal for school holiday camps.

The cost is $330 and includes accommodation, fabulous food, day and night activities.

Local Attractions

Somersby Falls, Mangrove Dam, Central Coast Beaches, Koolang Observatory, 
Australian Reptile Park, National Parks, Mt. Penang Parklands, with a 20 seater mini-bus 
available to visit local attractions. 

Accommodation and Facilities

The centre caters for up to 200 people with a variety of accommodation styles including:

  • 5 A-frames, bunk style (100 people) with separate male/female shower blocks
  • Separate ensuite accommodation for a maximum of 60 people (8 rooms x 6-7 people)
  • Teacher accommodation (12 people, twin share) - air-conditioned/ ensuites / kitchenette
  • Tent accommodation for up to 40 people
  • There are three conference rooms (2 x 150 & 50 people) ideal for group activities and seminars

Catering

Full commercial catering facilities and service, which includes breakfast, morning and 
afternoon teas, lunch, dinner, and supper.  We are able to cater easily for large groups 
of up to 200 capacity.  A qualified chef provides a wide range of healthy and satisfying meals.   
An undercover BBQ area is also available.

Medical Support and Safety

  • Staff have first aid certificates
  • 14 kilometres from the local medical centre
  • 30 minutes (18 kms) to Gosford Hospital
  • Evacuation / incident protocols in place
  • Risk assessments conducted.

Our Fees

Our fees provide excellent value for community groups, school events and parish gatherings.  
Bookings include all meals and comfortable accommodation.  A flexible activity program can be 
arranged to meet your requirements.  Contact us to confirm pricing for your specific program.  
Minimum numbers are required for program bookings and cancellation fees do apply.
