Record Keeping Tools

We have created a series of record keeping tool to help you manage your first Volunteer Service Period.  The first tool is the Log Book.  This is the official record of the Volunteer hours served.  You will have to submit your first log book by Friday 5th February.  Please do no loose this log book, it is an official document.  The Log book is available from your parish official, you may receive one in the mail from your parish.

The second tool is for your personal use.  It is the Volunteer Service Record.  You can download the excel file so that you can manage your hours on the computer.  If you have trouble reading the excel file let us know ASAP.  You can also download a PDF version for you to print out.  This is a tool for you and your ministry supervisor, please do not submit this form to the Parish Support Unit at the end of the six months.

The registration for the Parish Internship Program is finally ready.  There are four pages to the registration form.  Each page needs to be completed as listed below:

  1. Fill out your personal details, select a ministry and read the Program Overview

  2. Read and sign the Code of Conduct agreement; Parent/Guardian Signature is required for interns aged 16 & 17.  Take your forms to the Parish Priest for his Endorsement.  In some parishes there may be more than five people interested in the program, in this case the Parish Priest will decide whom he wishes to endorse.  The endorsement is not based on first applications into the Diocese but who is selected by the Parish Priest as the parish nomination.  The Parish endorsement is necessary for your registration to be accepted by the Parish Support Unit.

  3. You must sign the Prohibited Employment Declaration, as this applies to all volunteers (including interns) and staff who engage in ministry within the Diocese of Broken Bay.

  4. 100 Point Check - your registration will not be accepted if your Parish Priest or his nominated representative has not signed this form.  Take the original documents for the 100 points into the parish office, they will check them then sign the form.  Do not send original documents to the Diocese, just the 100 point check form signed by your parish.

All completed registration forms should be posted to

Application Closing Date 1 - 24th July

It is important that you get your application form in by the 24th July to gain a spot in the WYD11 Parish Internship Program.  There are many parishes that will reach their quota of interns by the 24th July.  If your parish reaches the quota by 24th July you may miss out on a place in the program.

Applicants accepted into the program will begin their volunteer service period on Sunday 2nd August.

Late Application Closing Date 2 - 30th October

Late application will only be accepted if your parish doesn't reach their quota of 5 interns per community by 24th July.  Print off an application form above.  Take the application form to your parish priest and see if there are available spots in your parish.  If there is a spare spot in your parish, the application form must be mailed to the Diocese by Friday 30th October.
