A decision was made on 11th May to cancel Lighthouse 2011 due to a lack of registrations.   

The Lighthouse team has been preparing the program for months now but this decision will save the team many more hours of hard work over the coming 10 days.  The decision to cancel the event will also save Challenge Ranch and the Parish Support Unit purchasing resources and materials for the event.

The Parish Support Unit will continue to focus on the WYD pilgrimage and supporting Parish based Youth Ministry over the coming months.  After the WYD pilgrimage the Parish Support Unit will review the program of events for youth and young adults in the Diocese.  Until then we encourage youth and young adults to get involved in their local Parish and support the Diocese through the Diocesan Synod.

Thank you for your support of the Lighthouse weekend over the previous seven years and for your efforts to encourage youth and young adults to attend the weekend this year.  It is hoped that the best elements of Lighthouse will be offered in a fresh format in 2012.  We would welcome your comments, thoughts and feedback about what you would like offered at Lighthouse 2012.  Please email mark.mcdonald@dbb.org.au any comments or thoughts.
